Jane Taylor plays live

Last Christmas, Bob played a track by Jane Taylor. Now she explains how it changed her life and has become the opening to a new seasonal musical.

Having been championed by Johnnie Walker on Radio 2 and then opening for Paulo Nutini and Jools Holland, Jane Taylor and her band started playing a Christmas song on her tour last December.

Mr Claus seemed to engage the imagination of her audiences so much that Jane decided to turn it into an actual story.

That story grew into a proverbial tale about a down and out Santa Claus who found himself quite lost in the high tech, order on line, modern world. The story then launched a series of songs that blossomed into a musical.

Bob played the opening song from the musical Oh December on Christmas Day 2011 and Jane returns tonight to play live and talk about her extraordinary year.
