The European Health Insurance card (EHIC) is an essential card for anyone travelling abroad in Europe.
It鈥檚 important because it lets you get state healthcare at a reduced cost and sometimes for free. It is designed to cover the costs of your treatment meaning you can finish your holiday and return home as planned.
You can apply for a free EHIC聽 online via the official or you can get a form from your post office. Alternatively you can call the EHIC application service on 0845 606 2030.听
Whichever way you decide to get one, you DON鈥橳 have to pay a penny, so be wary of anyone asking you to do so.
