Susan Hulme reports on events at Westminster where MPs support air strikes as David Cameron says that Islamic State is a threat to the "streets of Britain" and the UK has a "duty" to confront it.
Facing a packed House of Commons, the Prime Minister says it is in the UK's interest to join in bombings against IS in Iraq and there was also a strong case for action in Syria.
Backing the Prime Minister, Labour leader Ed Miliband says IS is a "murderous" organisation, although he urges the endorsement of the United Nations for military intervention.
