Lulu is on the show as she prepares for her first ever performance in New York City; and why is Norwegian TV broadcasting a live fire for 12 hours?
News from home and abroad with Dotun Adebayo
She's a singing superstar -- and at 64 is swapping Boom Bang-A-Bang for her rock and blues roots. Lulu joins Dotun as she prepares for her first ever gig in New York City. Despite a career spanning almost half a century, the Scottish singer has never performed in the Big Apple. She's known for her anthem 'Shout' in the UK, but in the USA it's her theme tune for the film 'To Sir with Love'. She tells Dotun she's honoured to be linked to Sidney Poitier through a film which was such a "huge political and humanitarian breakthrough for the US".
From the Big Apple to Norway, where the state broadcaster is ditching documentaries and comedy, for a 12 hour long live broadcast of a fire. The head of programming at NRK, Rune M酶klebust, explains how the idea came from the massive success of a book, published last year, which focused entirely on fire wood : how to cut it, stack it, set fire to it. Apparently Norwegians have a very special relationship with wood. Stand up comedian Andre Ulveseter's take on it? All it tells him about Norway, is that it is really cold.
