Episode 5
Cookery series. Ed Baines and Valentine Warner visit and compete in country shows. The chefs both hope to win the day with their date and walnut scones at the Nidderdale show.
It's the day of reckoning for our top chefs Ed Baines and Val Warner as they reach the end of the road on their country show journey of discovery. They arrive in Nidderdale in North Yorkshire and they both hope to win the day - and the week - with their Date and Walnut scone entries at the Nidderdale show.
Before they reach for the aprons however, they make a visit to nearby food hero Susannah Vickers, who runs a mobile baking service, sharing her passion and teaching others to bake delicious bread. She's got some hints and tips for our two professionals too...
But it'll be down to four scones each to decide who enjoys the smell of success...they're two of the most respected and experienced chefs in the country - this should be a doddle! Only the local competition will be taking this very seriously - so they have to be on top form. And with judge Julie Clarke passing the final verdict, this is hotting up to be one of the fiercest food fights ever!
