As Cyprus struggles to deal with its banking crisis, Fiona Mullen from Sapienta Economics in Nicosia, with her tongue in her cheek, tells us it's been a good week for burglaries in the country as so many are now keeping cash at home. On a more serious note she adds she will continue to keep money on her as she and everyone else has been so scarred by the events of the past week. She also feels Cyprus is caught in the middle of a political row between the EU and Russia, with the country now feeling isolated and friendless in the world.

Up All Night pays tribute to the Nigerian author Chinua Achebe who's died at the age of 82. We hear from the head of the Royal African Society Richard Dowden who had known him for several years. He tells us how Mr Achebe's work covered the biggest transformation of Nigeria, and African society as a whole from imperialism, through the struggle for independence up until the present day, something he describes as a 'remarkable achievement' developing real life characters and instantly recognisable situations...he was, Mr Dowden says, the master.
