Lucy Heller is the Chief Executive of , an organisation that oversee the running of 18 academies in disadvantaged communities throughout the UK. She is responsible for a model of education which is currently driving current government education policy. Lucy who features on the joins Jenni to talk about the ethos that she believes makes her schools so successful, as well as whether being a woman in such a senior position is relevant in her day to day working life. 

This week the Foreign Secretary William Hague has been in the Democratic Republic of Congo meeting the survivors of sexual violence. For the first time in G8’s history, the issue of sexual violence against women will be discussed by the foreign ministers. The meeting follows the launch of the Foreign Secretary’s Preventing Sexual Violence Initiative last year when he called for an increase in the number of prosecutions to act as a deterrent to further violence. Some groups are concerned that the survivors of sexual violence need to be better supported for Mr Hague’s initiative on prosecutions to be achieved. From the beginning of April, divorcing couples in England and Wales will no longer be able to apply for legal aid, apart from in exceptional cases. Instead they will have to consider mediation before going to the courts. Jane Robey is the chief executive officer of National Family Mediation and explains what’s involved in the process.
