Should the army be recruiting 16 year olds?
At that age - you're NOT an adult, you can't buy a pint - on your own, at least, in a pub. You can't buy cigarettes and you can't vote.
But - even though at 16 in the eyes of the law you are still a CHILD - you CAN sign up....
Two charities this morning say MILLIONS is being wasted every year on recruiting under 18s - as it costs TWICE as much to train them.
But should a 16 year old be in the army in the first place?
The UK is the ONLY member of the EU recruiting 16 and 17 year olds.
