The murder of a soldier in Woolwich has been labelled a terrorist act, the English Defence League have been protesting on the streets and there were attacks on two mosques. People are worried and tensions are high - so, what can we do to calm things down? How do we make sure we 'keep on lid' on what happened?
All morning we've been asking why this attack happened - we've heard widespread condemnation - and abhorrence - from politicians, the community here...faith groups. BUT we've also seen it labelled a terrorist act - and last night the English Defence League were protesting and there were attacks on two mosques.
People are worried and tensions are high - So, what can we do to calm things down? How do we make sure we 'keep on lid' on what happened yesterday?
305 callers - not very many answering the actual question, despite best efforts, but some good points made and plenty to go at.
Callers reflecting concerns over the media hype, the newspaper front pages inflaming things, our involvement in Afghanistan, the role of social media, whether these men are just mad or actual terrorists. Plus people talking about concerns about wearing Help for Heroes t-shirts.
