Rupert Thomson

Rupert Thomson is the author of eight novels. His latest book is the historical novel ‘Secrecy’ (Granta), narrated by the 17th Century Sicilian sculptor Gaetano Zummo. We’ve commissioned Rupert to write the latest in our series of ‘Books That Don’t Exist’, ‘On the Carpet of Leaves Illuminated by the Moon’ by Takakumi Ikoka, from Italo Calvino’s ‘If On A Winter’s Night A Traveller’


Menna Elfyn

Menna Elfyn

s an award winning poet and playwright who is passionate about the welsh language and identity. She’s the most translated of all Welsh language poets, and the only contemporary Welsh language poet to have been translated into English by the great R.S.Thomas. Menna talks about their relationship, in this his centenary year, and reads from her new collection ‘Murmur’ (Bloodaxe). 


Tiffany Murray

Tiffany Murray

Tiffany Murray is the author of Happy Accidents (Harper Perennial) and Diamond Star Halo (Portobello Books), both short-listed for the Bollinger Everyman Wodehouse Prize. She is Senior Lecturer in Creative Writing at the University of Glamorgan and was the 2012 Hay Festival International Fellow. Tiffany will be reading from her work-in-progress, a novel called ‘Sugar Hall’ to be published by Seren.


Wara

Wara

Wara are a London based band with members from Cuba, Argentina, Venezuela, Chile, Ghana, Congo, Spain and Great Britain. Their music mixes Latin Funk, Cuban Salsa, Hip Hop, Rumba and Jazz, whilst their lyrics reflect the experience of Latin Americans living in the UK. They’re performing songs from their forthcoming album ‘Leave to Remain’.
