A French film about two young lesbians wins the Palme D'Or in Cannes, and the Australian government is to ban adverts featuring live betting odds during sports coverage.

A three-hour film about two young lesbians has won the top award at the Cannes Film Festival. The Palme D'Or went to the French production, Blue is the Warmest Colour, by the Tunisian-born director Abdellatif Kechiche. We catch up with the film critic Jason Solomons for his view.

The Australian government is to ban adverts featuring live betting odds during sports coverage. Generic gambling ads will still be allowed before, after and during breaks - but only without referring to odds. We hear from a Labor MP who's backed the legislation.
