Angry at Janine's latest stunt, Michael uses the nearest person to him to make himself feel better. A worried Bianca urges Carol to be honest with Masood before it is too late.
Poppy tells Alice that Michael’s not right for her, but Alice disagrees. Michael reports Janine to the police but when Alice finds Janine’s passport in the house, Michael’s solicitor’s unable to take action as Janine hasn’t taken Scarlett abroad. Michael drowns his sorrows in the Vic. Alice tries to comfort Michael but he rebuffs her. She storms off, hurt, and later at home insists she knows Michael better than anyone. Michael kisses her. Shyly confessing this is her first time, Alice heads upstairs. Michael follows.
Carol blanks Masood, tearfully revealing to Bianca she’s going through the menopause and feels like a joke. Carol admits she received a letter from David in January that Derek had been keeping from her. Bianca’s furious Carol neglected to tell her. Whitney convinces Carol to make up with Bianca and thinks Carol should tell worried Masood the truth.
Cora gives Tanya a leaflet on alcoholics. Tanya points out Lauren has no withdrawal symptoms but persists on keeping Lauren locked in. Kirsty counsels Lauren, while Max argues with Tanya about keeping Lauren locked up. Tanya has to leave Lauren when called to the salon and Peter brings round lunch; on her return, Tanya throws Peter out, worried he’s snuck alcohol in. Lauren laughs, revealing the bottle of ‘water’ she’s been swigging all day is really vodka. Cora finds Tanya in tears – Lauren really is an alcoholic.
Sharon offers to hold a fundraiser at R&R to raise cash for Dot’s church roof fund. Phil’s dismissive but Sharon’s determined to stand up to him.
Lucy tells Peter that Lauren stole Joey from her. Peter suggests he run the chip shop. Lucy accuses Peter of plotting but when Ian offers him work in Scarlett’s, Lucy’s jealous and changes her mind, offering Peter shifts on the stall.
