Richard speaks to Lance Corporal James Wharton who talks about coming out as gay in the army he tells of how his fellow soldiers beat him so badly that he needed treatment in hospital. He also talks about how he feared he would be attacked again, until his Commander put a stop to it - that Commander being Prince Harry. All is revealed in his book Out In The Army - My life as a Gay Soldier.
Biologist Simon Watt and Space Scientist Dr Lucie Green join Richard for a new feature - Bacon's Theory - to talk about the science news stories of the week and answer listeners science questions.
