Andy Murray became the first British man to reach a men's singles final at SW19 since 1938, but his challenge was ended by Swiss star Roger Federer, who claimed his seventh Wimbledon crown. A familiar name was also etched on to the women's trophy - Serena Williams equalled sister Venus's record of five Wimbledon titles, beating Agnieszka Radwanska in three sets.
