As the argument over The Open continues, are politicians right to put pressure on Muirfield to change its men only members policy and on the R&A to take Murifield off the Open rosta till it does? Kaye asks if politicians should butt out of the argument. Is this the time to be discussing sexism or should we focus on the golf?

Research shows that Glasgow spends 拢395m a year - the third highest in the UK - on the problem of child poverty. The study on behalf of the Child Poverty Action Group estimates that over 36,000 children in the city live below the poverty line. But what does it mean for a child now - is it not having a games console or wide screen television, having to rely on free school dinners or not having a family holiday? And what are the longer term impacts for a child growing up in poverty - the emotional effects, their ambitions, prospects and general happiness?

And Kaye celebrates our outer corners. Scotland's three island councils have written to the UK and Scottish Governments demanding more powers to protect their communities, culture and resources. We hear from Kirkwall, Lerwick and Stornoway on why their isles are so unique and the big issues facing them.
