Is it wrong if you only have mates who are Asian?

Last night's Asian Network Reports looked at research which suggests only one in ten Brits have good friends from a different ethnic background. Challenge Network polled more that 2000 adults and found that two thirds of them thought that it was important to have programmes which brought together people from different backgrounds.

Do you agree? Does this show that the UK has a problem with racial segregation? Or are you fed up of being told you should integrate with people from different backgrounds?
Isn't who you hang out with more down to where you grew up and went to school? If you live in a predominantly asian area, then chances are most of your friends will be asian won't they? Nothing wrong in that, is there?

Or does this attitude create racial ghettos? If we only hang out with our own are we in danger of creating resentment and prejudice amongst different communities?

After 11 - Author Amit Chaudhuri talks about his book 'Calcutta'.
