Naturalist Miranda Krestovnikoff together with Mike Dilger and Alastair McKee explore and celebrate the amazing wildlife that can be found in some West Country towns and cities. Miranda discovers an inspiring community garden in Knowle West and also visits city gardens in Bristol and Gloucester where she hopes to catch a glimpse of some urban badgers. Mike Dilger finds that the Avon New Cut, a forgotten Bristolian backwater largely ignored by the hundreds of daily commuters is also a wildlife haven. And Alastair McKee discovers that Swindon is home to some fantastic hidden wildlife gems.

The wilder side of towns and cities in the West is explored in Urban Jungle which looks at nature in towns and cities where you live.

Presented by Miranda Krestovnikoff, Mike Dilger and Alistair McKee, Urban Jungle is part of the 大象传媒's Summer of Wildlife听season of programming and showcase events that will celebrate the UK鈥檚 unique and extraordinary wildlife.

The aim is to inspire and galvanise people to discover more about the incredible species and habitats on their doorstep.听

Bristol has one of the largest populations of badgers in the UK, so Miranda Krestovnikoff goes to Kingswood to meet the neighbours whose back gardens have become host to family of badgers.听

She also goes to St Pauls School in Gloucester to see how a pond has opened their eyes to wildlife and transformed their approach to learning.

Mike Dilger finds out if Bristol鈥檚 New Cut has enough wildlife to become one of Bristol鈥檚 newest nature reserves.听

The man-made tidal backwater is home to several species of butterflies, sandpipers, sparrowhawks and herons right alongside a busy route into the heart of the city.听

Alastair McKee reveals Swindon鈥檚 surprising green havens, parks in the middle of housing estates and business parks which are being used to study the migration habits of birds.

New Cut in the heart of urban Bristol is vying to become one of the city's newest nature reserves.

This man-made water channel stretches for three miles and provides a perfect habitat for butterflies, birds and bugs.

Presenter Mike Dilger discovers some of its urban wildlife and explores what it offers to the thousands of commuters who cycle, walk and drive along it on their way to work.
