Scotland the Fat
Samantha Poling asks why Scotland has become the second fattest nation in the world behind America, and meets those attempting to make dietary changes to combat their weight.
Scotland is the second fattest country in the world, behind only United States. But why? It wasn't always this way. We used to eat fish, vegetables and oatmeal, now some of us can't even cut an onion.
Samantha Poling investigates what's changed to make our society so fat. She meets the people who've taken drastic measures to combat their weight and others for whom overeating has taken a heavy toll. She quizzes Scots on their knowledge of fruit and vegetables and uncovers a lack of healthy food available even in some Scottish hospitals.
