Radio 3 vs 6 Music

Mary Anne Hobbs and Radio 3's Martin Hanley simulcast a weekend breakfast Music Exchange.

Radio 3 and 6 Music take on their love of music. Mary Anne Hobbs and Radio 3's Martin Handley simulcast their exchange of musical gifts ahead of Prom 40: the 6 Music Prom.

Radio 3's Martin Handley brings a record for the 6 Music audience, and Mary Anne for the Radio 3 audience in a unique Weekend Breakfast Music Exchange.

Expect a detailed insight into the way that individual contrasting tastes can meet in the one place - a deep passion for music.

And of course the usual breakfast blend of tunes from the likes of Queens of the Stone Age, Johnny Marr, Richard Hawley, Nina Simone and some of the newest music that's landed within Mary Anne's digital travels this week.

Steve Lamacq and Radio 3's Tom Service will be presenting the first ever 6 Music Prom on Monday 12 August, broadcast live on 6 Music and Radio 3. Performing at The Royal Albert Hall, the Prom will feature original punk rock purveyors The Stranglers, double Mercury Prize-nominated Laura Marling, 6 Music's own Cerys Matthews, plus the London Sinfonietta who will be playing works by Var猫se, Berio, John Adams and Anna Meredith.
