Gareth Bale has finally completed his record-breaking transfer from Spurs to Real Madrid.
A flurry of last minute deals could follow in the run up to tonight's transfer deadline, putting Premier League clubs on course to spend more than half a billion pounds in a transfer window for the first time.
But the League's 20 clubs are also estimated to be in 2.5 billion pounds of debt, and the European Commission says only two per cent of transfer cash finds its way to grassroots football.
