Hailing from Prince Edward Island, the award-winning Gordie MacKeeman and his Rhythm Boys serve up old-time roots music for the modern day music lover.

Tom T. Hall鈥檚 Blackened Green Tomatoes

Ingredients:
3 medium green tomatoes 鈥� thinly sliced
2 tablespoons vinegar
2 cups cornmeal
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon salt
陆 cup oil

Preparation:
Place tomatoes in water to cover in bowl. Add vinegar; mix well. Let stand for 15 minutes. Combine cornmeal, salt and pepper in a paper bag. Shake briskly to mix well. Drain tomatoes on a paper towel. Place damp tomatoes in paper bag. Shake briskly until tomatoes and coated well. Heat oil in skillet. Add tomatoes 1 at a time; do not let sides touch. Cook until dark brown, turning frequently. Drain on paper towels. Serve immediately.
