You can’t be too precious about your material and your ‘voice’ when you’re writing for a series with 3 other writers – when you boil it down, you’re there to serve the story, to put the right words into the characters mouths and work up a damn good plot with emotional depth.
To be able to do this on deadline and to everyone’s satisfaction (including your own) is job, most thoroughly, done – and what a buzz to be there for the recording, to sit there quietly during the first readthrough and hear the actors become the characters and speak the words you’ve written. Oh and turn to you at the end and say ‘this is brilliant’.  That was ok…
