A Chinese immigrant tells Jeremy her life story through her favourite music. But which songs does she hold dearest? Those from the country she was born in, or now lives in?
Sylvia Sham moved to Manchester from Hong Kong in the 1980s to study. She'd grown up in abject poverty. Her family was so poor than nine of them shared one bed. And when she first came to Manchester, things weren't much better. She couldn't afford a bus fare, so walked for four hours a day to get to and from college.
Jeremy discovers Canto-pop for the first time and hears why the theme to Chariots of Fire is so important to Sylvia.
