Ed Miliband says a Labour government will freeze energy bills for 20 months to help tackle a 'cost of living crisis'.

Ed Miliband delivers his leader's speech at the Labour Party annual conference in Brighton, with a promise to freeze energy bills after the next election and improve the minimum wage. Energy UK, which represents the energy providers, says it would cut the money available for infrastructure and jobs and raise the prospect of shortages. Kenya's President Uhuru Kenyatta announces the four-day siege involving suspected Islamist militants at Nairobi's Westgate shopping centre is over and confirms that 61 civilians and six soldiers have died. Also, former Blue Peter Editor Biddy Baxter gives her reaction to calls for the 大象传媒 to do more to consider the needs of children and for more family focused programmes in the evenings.
