Episode 1
Joining Jools are Kanye West with music from his latest album Yeezus, Kings of Leon, Sting, 16-year-old New Zealand sensation Lorde, garage rock duo Drenge and Bill Medley.
Joining Jools on the first show of the series, with music from his latest album Yeezus, is hip hop superstar and worldwide hitmaker Kanye West. Oklahoma's multi-million selling Followill clan aka Kings of Leon perform numbers from their upcoming sixth album Mechanical Bull; and it's a welcome return for Sting, who showcases tunes from his album The Last Ship, which is not only his first all-original compositions album in a decade but also the soundtrack to his play, due to open on Broadway in 2014. Sixteen-year-old New Zealand sensation Lorde, whose first single Royals has clocked up over six million hits on YouTube, makes her UK TV debut. Hailing from the Peak District, explosive garage rock duo Drenge, brothers Rory and Eoin Loveless, also make their first TV appearance with songs from their eponymous debut album. And half of the Righteous Brothers, Bill Medley, the voice of You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling and (I Had) The Time of My Life, chats about his career and performs with Jools at the piano.
During the Spring series of Later, Jools welcomed the likes of Queens of the Stone Age, Disclosure, John Grant, Primal Scream, Haim, The Strypes, Johnny Marr, Melt Yourself Down, Miguel, OMD and Yeah Yeah Yeahs into the studio.
