Energy supplier E.on has closed its popular StayWarm tariff which guaranteed the cost of gas and electricity a year in advance for tens of thousands of over 60s. E.on says the tariff had to go because new rules which start in December restrict the number of tariffs to four and it has decided StayWarm will not be one.
