Hey Lord, Don't Ask Me Questions
Johnnie hears the seventies memories of the pub rock pioneer Graham Parker.
Johnnie Walker celebrates the decade of Mexico '70, West Germany '74 and Argentina '78.
This week Graham Parker recalls his emergence to the music scene and picks some of his favourite tunes in My 70s. Accompanied by his band The Rumour, he came to national attention in 1977 with a cover of Hold Back The Night by The Trammps, performed on Top Of The Pops. With a style covering pub rock, rhythm and blues and new wave, he would influence artists including Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen as the decade ended.
Also on the show, the seventies will be revisited with sounds courtesy of the 大象传媒 archive, and Johnnie will add another classic seven inch to Johnnie's Jukebox.
