Around 拢8.6 billion is invested in 'Ethical' funds and according to analysts Moneyfacts, the average ethical fund has posted gains of 24% over the last year, compared with 18% growth from the average non-ethical fund. Over the past ten years however the average ethical fund grew by less than half the growth of the average non-ethical fund.

The share price total return in the Environmental Sector has increased by 29% over the last year, compared to a wider industry average of 16%, say The Association of Investment Companies.
