Live Longer Wales is a season of programmes from 大象传媒 Cymru Wales inspring us to change our lives.
Wales's top chef, Dudley Newbury, is on a mission to change the way his Valleys home town of Ynysybwl thinks about food: how to grow it, how to cook it and how to eat it. His goal is simple - to get the community to join together to rediscover the ability to grow, shop and prepare healthy meals from scratch, using locally produced ingredients. It's not just about taking inches off their waistlines. It's about adding years to their lives. In this episode, Dudley continues his quest by taking on the menu at Cresci's cafe, where he tries to convince the locals to swap their greasy spoon breakfasts for some real Italian home cooking, and he helps a worried local mum to save money by planning and shopping locally. Meanwhile, as the carnival draws near, there are problems to be sorted out when plants in the community garden suffer in the summer sun.
