Mairead NicLe貌id, na h-脪ganaich, a' bruidhinn ri br脿thair a h-athar mu na h-貌rain aige. Margaret Macleod, na h-脪ganaich, talks to her uncle about his life and songs.

Nuair a bhiodh Mairead NicLe貌id a' tighinn a Le貌dhas air l脿ithean-saora na sgoile, bha i a' cur seachad m貌ran dhan 霉ine sin c貌mhla ri a seanmhair agus br脿ithrean a h-athar an Tolastadh a' Chaolais. Fhads a bha na fir a' fighe air a' bheairt bhiodh iad cuideachd a' seinn, agus bhiodh Mairead 貌g ag 猫isteachd. Agus ged a thogadh Mairead an D霉n 脠ideann agus an Ceann Ph脿draig, 's e a' Gh脿idhlig a bh' aca rithe. Tha cuimhne mhath aig Mairead air na l脿ithean d貌igheil sin, agus ann an 2013 thill i a Tholostadh a cheilidh air br脿thair a h-athar, D貌mhnall Norrie, nach maireann. Bha l脿 ann agus bha f猫ill mh貌r air fh猫in a' seinn aig consairtean agus ceilidhean, agus ann an 脪rain Dh貌mhnaill Norrie, tha 'd a' c貌mhradh mu na h-貌rain aige ( cuid a chaidh a chl脿radh dhan BhBC bho chionn bhliadhnaichean ), mun bhaile agus mu na daoine.

When Margaret Macleod, of the acclaimed Gaelic band 'Na h-脪ganaich', came to Lewis during her school holidays, much of the time was spent in Tolsta Chaolais with her granny and her father's brothers. As they worked the loom, they sang Gaelic songs and Mairead listened, they also spoke Gaelic to her despite her being brought up in Peterhead and Edinburgh. Mairead has vivid memories of that time and in 脪rain Dh貌mhnaill Norrie, first broadcast in 2013 she went back to Tolsta to talk to her sole remaining uncle, the late D貌mhnall Norrie, about their family, his songs ( some of which he recorded for the 大象传媒 ), the village and the people.
