How YOU can make a difference and save a life

How YOU can make a difference and save a life

Arrhythmia Alliance launched its campaign in partnership with and Bolton Wanderers Football Club with the aim of saving lives from sudden cardiac arrest.

When Fabrice collapsed in March 2012 during an FA Cup game at White Hart Lane there was little awareness of sudden cardiac arrest.  Fabrice was fortunate to receive immediate medical attention on the pitch with CPR and defibrillation from an AED (automated external defibrillator) to shock his heart back into rhythm.  His heart stopped for 78 minutes and he survived, but many others are not so lucky…

Placing life-saving public access AEDs across the UK

Placing life-saving public access AEDs across the UK
Sudden cardiac arrest is the UK’s biggest killer claiming 100,000 lives each year. Our campaign aims to raise greater awareness of sudden cardiac arrest and show how anyone can help to save a life through the use of public access AEDs.

In the event of a sudden cardiac arrest, which can strike anyone at any time, every minute counts and early action before the emergency services arrive is vital to save a life. An AED can increase the chance of survival from 5% to over 50% when combined with CPR, and can be used by anyone safely and effectively, even without training.

Through , Arrhythmia Alliance aims to ensure nationwide availability of public access AEDs, so that life-saving equipment is available to anyone in the event of a sudden cardiac arrest.

CPR and AED training for communities

CPR and AED training for communities
Training for communities and schools around the country is offered as part of the campaign, teaching individuals the life-saving difference they can make in the event of a sudden cardiac arrest.
These educational sessions provide the confidence and reassurance needed to intervene in an emergency.
