Scotland's first minister says today's white paper is a mission statement for the country's future, but his opponents say it is no more than a work of fiction.
As the Scottish government sets out its vision for an independent country, Peter Allen is in Edinburgh hearing how Scotland would keep the pound and stay in the EU. But those campaigning against independence say the White Paper is a work of fiction.
