JP Devlin meets the people on Queensway in Stevenage town centre. Quietly known as 鈥渟pace city鈥, many 听of the world鈥檚 satellites are built there. It鈥檚 home to an aerospace company which built the first British ballistic missile 鈥 the 鈥淏lue Streak鈥 鈥 in the 1950鈥檚. Nowadays it builds scientific equipment for dozens of space missions including the Rosetta probe- awoken this week to explore comets in outer space.

Ed Iglehart grew up in the segregated Florida of the 1940s and 50s, in a family where each of his eight great-grandparents had owned slaves.听 The segregation mantra was 鈥榮eparate but equal鈥 and everything from theatre entrances, beaches, buses and schools had separate provision for Black and White.听 Ed, who now lives in Scotland, 听tells Saturday Live how he was brought up with racism, and how, as the civil rights movement gained momentum, he came to be a part of it.
