Johnnie revives the spirit of freeform American FM radio, playing the artists nurtured by 'underground' radio and the contemporary musicians who have been influenced by them.
Johnnie revives the spirit of freeform American FM radio broadcast during the late sixties and seventies. Tonight we hear tracks from three West Coast acts signed to the New York label Elektra: Love, The Doors and Tim Buckley (the father of Jeff Buckley). There is also music from three singer-songwriters based in Los Angeles in this era: Jackson Browne, Carole King and James Taylor.
