Computer Aid International
aims to reduce poverty through practical ICT (Information Communication Technology) solutions. We collect IT equipment for distribution in hospitals, universities, schools and not-for-profit organisations in over 100 countries.
听
All working PCs are tested and refurbished by our team of expert volunteers at our London workshop before being sent for reuse in agriculture, health and education projects across the UK, Africa and Latin America.听
听
We also work to increase access to ICT among poor and disadvantaged communities, providing e-learning courses, training and environmental advocacy.
听
We have been granted a Royal Warrant of Appointment to provide computer recycling services to Her Majesty The Queen. This marks a significant milestone in Computer Aid鈥檚 15 year history and is a reflection of the quality of the work we do.

Education Training
The prohibitive cost of ICT equipment means that the vast majority of children in the developing world leave school having never touched a computer in the classroom. Learning ICT skills can significantly improve children's life prospects, allowing them to enter into higher education and higher paid employment.
ICT in Health
There is a chronic shortage of doctors and nurses in much of Africa, especially in rural areas. In Zambia, there are only 20 nurses and midwives for every 10,000 people. With access to ICT doctors and nurses can connect to specialists to gain support and access the training courses that they need to provide life- saving medical care to rural populations.

UK Volunteers
Managing the turnaround of 3,000 donated computers and laptops per month involves a lot of skill and hard work. We could not do this without the support of our incredible team of volunteers based in our UK office and workshop.
