From Tuesdays to Fridays, midnight to 1am, 6 Music broadcasts an hour of the most interesting and exciting new releases as Lauren Laverne (Tuesday), Tom Ravenscroft (Wednesday), Mary Anne Hobbs (Thursday) and Steve Lamacq (Friday) recommend their essential new music. Tonight, Steve Lamacq will present his 6 Music Recommends show from the South by South West in Austin Texas, an annual Festival showcasing the best in exciting new musical talent.
In 2008, Steve Lamacq took a little known artist to South by South West and showcased her talent to the world. Her name? Florence + the Machine. This year, Steve returns to the world's biggest new festival where he has hand-picked some of the best and most exciting acts to have been supported by 大象传媒 Introducing for a performance that could be another seminal moment in a brand new artist's story.
Joining Steve for a live performance on the famous 6th Street are alt-pop duo Thumpers, anthemic songwriters, Longfellow, electro-pop act Cousin Marnie, and riff-heavy rockers from Brighton, Royal Blood.
And Lamacq will share his 6 Music Recommends tracks each week on his 大象传媒 Playlister page too, so that her listeners can add those they've loved the most to their own Playlister sets.
