Acclaimed singer and West End performer Peter Corry will welcome 大象传媒 Radio Ulster listeners into the wonderful world of musical theatre as he presents the new series Show Tunes on Sunday afternoons.听听

Starting on Sunday, March 16 at 4.30pm, the series of eight 30 minute programmes will see听Peter introduce listeners to classic and contemporary songs from the West End and beyond.

听

Peter, who has starred in musical productions such as Les Miserables, Oliver and Sweeney Todd, knows a thing or two about the musical numbers he will be offering up and, in the first of the series, listeners can hear him introduce songs from musicals as diverse as Joseph And His Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Guys And Dolls and the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

听

Later in the series, Peter will also play numbers from favourites such as Chicago, Grease, Hairspray, Evita, Caberet, Annie, the Phantom Of The Opera and My Fair Lady and many more.

听

Also in the programme is the weekly Am Dram Curtain Call feature in which Show Tunes will turn the spotlight on some of Northern Ireland's ever popular amateur dramatics groups, giving them a chance to tell listeners about their company鈥檚 history and recent productions.

听

Peter says: "I had a great time working on the series, it gave me a chance to reacquaint myself with some of my favourite songs as well as introduce me to some new music.

"It鈥檚 also been a chance to listen to some great singers from the past and some up-and-coming talent from home.

"I have been involved in musicals for 20 years now and I hope the programmes are enjoyed both by those who know their Phantoms from their Fagins and those who don't."
