The Scottish League Cup Final - Aberdeen v Inverness Caledonian Thistle
Live coverage of the Scottish League Cup final from Celtic Park, where Aberdeen take on Inverness Caledonian Thistle. Kick-off at 2.30pm.
Live from Celtic Park, Glasgow (kick-off 2.30pm).
The 68th Scottish League Cup Final sees Aberdeen take on Inverness Caledonian Thistle for the first silverware of the season. The venue is Celtic Park in Glasgow with Hampden out of action as it prepares for the Commonwealth Games. The Highlanders have never been to a major final since they were founded 20 years ago, so a win today would make history for them. The club was formed in 1994 following the merger of Caledonian FC and Inverness Thistle FC. Meanwhile the Dons have lifted this trophy five times in the past, their last win being in season 1995/96 with a 2-0 win over Dundee. Aberdeen's last appearance in the League Cup Final was 14 years ago when they lost to Celtic.
Derek McInnes is in his first full season as Aberdeen manager and the Pittodrie club have enjoyed a resurgence in fortunes under his guidance. They are battling it out for second place in the Premiership and have produced a good run in the Scottish Cup, including a fifth round win over Celtic at this ground. John Hughes took over from Terry Butcher in the Caley Thistle dug-out in December and led them to today's showpiece after beating Hearts in a dramatic penalty shoot-out in the semi-final.
