Lord Jones was born in the West Midlands, where his father ran the local grocer's shop. After being expelled from school following what he calls 'a streak round the quadrangle for a bet', he joined the Royal Navy to pay his way through university, where he studied law.

After a successful legal career, Lord Jones spent six and a half years as director general of the Confederation of British Industry.听From June 2007 to October 2008, he听was Minister of State for UK Trade & Investment,

Lord Jones is currently听chairman of Triumph Motorcycles and Grove Industries, as well听as an听adviser to听several听other companies. He is also听hosting a new听大象传媒2 series called听Troubleshooter.

Before starting Rapha, Simon was a director of brand consultancy at Interbrand, and a partner at a number of advertising agencies. In a previous life he qualified as a chartered accountant.

Simon started Rapha in 2004 with the aim of听creating and selling听high-quality听cycling apparel and accessories听around the world. Rapha has recently been named one of the top 100 fastest-growing private companies in the UK through the Times' Fast Track 100.

From 2006 to 2010, Ruth acted as business editor of the Observer. She also听previously worked as business editor for the Mail on Sunday, and听personal finance editor for the Daily Express, Investors Chronicle and Which? Magazine.

She lives with her husband in Clapham and enjoys running in her free time.
