The Bob Harris Music Library throws open its doors on Tuesday 15th April for the first in a series of programmes that mixes personal favourites with influential tracks; reflecting not only Bob's life-long love affair with music but also his interest and knowledge in both its historical roots and contemporary influences.

Over the next five weeks, Bob will bring together not only music from his nigh-on 45 years in radio, but he will also be making connections across the decades and across musical genre's, building a playlist of cornerstone releases that have helped shape the sound of music as we here it today. In an age where we like to neatly fit music into genres, this series will show how blurred the edges of those musical category boxes can actually be.

Nirvana, Jimmy Rodgers, Lonnie Donegan, Joni Mitchell and Jake Bugg all in the same hour of radio? Surely not? Oh yes! Bob Harris lays his musical library cards on the table from 10 o'clock on Tuesday 15th April.
