In this first programme, Gilles plays some Samba from Rio, a rare track from 1958 by Jose Prates, which inspired Jorge Ben's huge hit Mas Que Nada, and some Brazilian soul. Gilles also picks this first "Santa Graal", or Holy Grail album, where he features one stand out Brazilian record each week. The first Santa Graal pick is Arthur Verocai's 1972 self-titled release.
