Maureen Lipman
Russell Davies interviews actress Maureen Lipman.
Russell Davies interview A-list legends of music, art, comedy and film. This week, Russell is in conversation with writer and actress Maureen Lipman.
After studying at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, Maureen made her acting debut in 1969's "The Knack". Since then her work has ranged from feature films such as "The Pianist", writing for The Guardian and Good Housekeeping, starring alongside Hugh Jackman in the musical "Oklahoma!", as well as appearing in a long series of commercials for BT. With a career spanning over 40 years, winning an Olivier Award for her role in "See How They Run" to receiving a CBE, Maureen Lipman has cemented herself as one of Britain's favourite performers on both stage and screen.
She speaks to Russell about her art, alongside a soundtrack inspired by her career.
