Am measg nan cuspairean air a bheil Alasdair a' togail tha atharrachadh air a' sg矛re, air croitearachd agus air ce貌l. Tha mac Alasdair, Darren, air am bonn 貌r a bhuannachadh aig a' Mh貌d N脿iseanta R矛oghail cuideachd.
Cha robh baile gun bh霉th sna l脿ithean a dh'fhalbh agus tha Ailean D貌mhnallach a' cuimhneachadh air b霉th a sheanar ann a R貌isgil agus Uilleam MacAsgaill air b霉th a sheanar san ann a Bhatan.
Allan Campbell visits Alasdair MacLean in Herebost, the village neighbouring Roag, on the shores of Loch Bracadale. Alasdair is the fourth generation occupying his croft and he describes his childhood and early days in the village, and he tells of how he returned to the community and established his career and home there. He speaks of the decline in crofting and the dramatic changes in the culture of the area, but music is still a strong feature of the area and Alasdair's son Darren has achieved distinction as a Gold Medal winning singer. Alasdair comments on the influence of the church on local culture. Allan MacDonald was born in the village of Roskhill nearby and he recalls his entrepreneurial grandfather's shop and various enterprises, and we hear some memories of the several local shops in the community including some anecdotes from Willie MacAskill about his grandfather's shop in Vatten.
