Louise White asks listeners what action the UK should take following a second reported killing of a US reporter by Islamic State and a threat involving a British hostage.
Prime Minister David Cameron has been called to an emergency COBRA meeting to discuss a response to Islamic State militants who have released a video in which they appear to execute a second hostage and are now threatening to murder a British Hostage. With this threat, IS shows it makes little or no distinction between the US and Britain as its enemy, despite Britain so far restricting itself to dropping aid to refugees and flying in supplies to the Kurdish military, leaving air strikes to the Americans.
Louise asks: Following a second reported US beheading by Islamic State, and the threat of a third, believed to involve a British hostage, what should the UK do?
Charity Living Streets have said that the 'green man' should stay on for three seconds longer to give people more time to cross the road safely.
New research shows that not everyone meets the official 'assumed walking speed' used to set crossing times, which has not changed since the 1950s despite an ageing population.
Following the launch of their campaign to extend crossing time last year, they say this new research is further proof that an urgent review is needed.
Louise White asks: Does the 'green man' give you enough time to get across the road? Get in touch on 0500 92 95 00 or text 80295.
