From the European Union and the RSPCA to one of the industry standard bodies, Red Tractor, there are rules and regulations over the treatment of farm animals. We ask if these standards are stringent enough, and whether better food labelling, showing how livestock has lived and died, would encourage consumers to demand higher welfare values.
