Nevis Survey
Dougie Vipond tackles the sheer cliffs of the North Face of Ben Nevis as he joins a pioneering team of geologists, botanists and mountain guides. The team is conducting the most detailed modern geological and botanical survey of the North Face ever done. As Dougie finds out the study has already revealed new information about how Ben Nevis was formed.
Post – Referendum
In the wake of the no vote what does the future hold for Scottish Agriculture? Sarah Mack heads along to one of Scotland’s busiest cattle and sheep markets to see how farmers feel about the future and meets key figures within the industry to get their views.
Brown Crab
On Landward we love to champion sustainable, local foods especially if they are a little unloved or overlooked. Brown crab is a great example. It’s healthy, plentiful and thousands of tonnes of it are landed by Scottish fishermen every year. But the majority of the catch heads straight for the continent. Dougie goes crab fishing to see why crab is so sustainable; then Nick Nairn and Dougie take the famous Landward food van right into the heart of Dundee to see what the shoppers think of fresh crab.
Title Music
Landward has a new theme tune, composed and performed by Duncan Chisholm. Euan Mcilwraith meets Duncan in stunning Glen Affric, the location of a family drama that inspired the tune.
