Pupils from an Edinburgh school explore how their community was affected by World War I. They begin by tracking the lives of soldiers from their school who signed up as recruits.
1/5 Over the last year, pupils from Portobello High School in Edinburgh, have been discovering how their community was affected by World War One.
In this episode, the students set out to track the lives of soldiers from their school who signed up to serve in the Great War. By researching army records, interviewing historians and getting an insight into WW1 training, the pupils find out what life would have been like for the new recruits.
