Before becoming a TV and Radio Presenter Euan was a drilling engineer in the oil industry.  He investigates how Shetland took advantage of North Sea oil in the 70s and 80s.  Now the economy is booming again, with hundreds of millions of pounds being spent on and around the islands developing oil infrastructure, Euan finds out why.

He tags along as they free dive for razor clams – locally known as spoots.  The technique is simple – just take a deep breath and go for it.  But, as Dougie finds out it’s hard work! Later the whole team get a taste.

We couldn’t go to Shetland without visiting a Shetland pony stud.  They are one of Shetland’s most popular exports after all. Worldwide around 17,000 Shetland pony foals are registered each year with the breed society. Sarah finds out what makes them so popular.
