Further Information:

As the Halloween parties draw to a close, and the witch costumes and cobwebs are put away for another year, All Things Considered asks if such festivities are just a bit of inoffensive fun, or if the darker spirits they refer to are in fact powers not to be trifled with. For many, the idea of evil spirits is something from another, less enlightened time, but within many churches today, there are still ministers trained in delivering the afflicted from their power.

Roy Jenkins considers whether such malevolent forces exist and if so, how they can be dealt with. In many cases the symptoms of possession or affliction are also those of mental health problems, but in today鈥檚 scientifically-minded society, is this the only explanation? And if not, how is it possible to find the correct root cause.
