The 6 Music listeners set a musical challenge for Craig Charles and his house band, the History Teachers.

The 6 Music listeners will set Craig Charles and his house band 'The History Teachers' to a musical challenge. In the past they've been asked to chart the history of the 'Stax Record Label' and chart 'The History of Black American Music from 1945 through to the present day'. The History Teachers is up made from a legendry line up including, Angelo Starr (vocals), Mick Talbot (keyboard), Ernie McKone (base guitar), Crispin Taylor (drums) and Julian Burdock (electric guitar). In The History of Women in Funk & Soul we shine the spotlight on a living legend, Sharon Jones. At 8pm Craig takes to the decks to bring us 30 minutes of back-to-back dance floor friendly funk. And a 6 Music listener will take of the decks for 15 minutes as they create their very own Spinage au Trois.
